tar-tongued;

sea-brittle sugar
bones & star-
stitched

withering
waste of
fever burns &
blue lips
i'm a disappointment fifteen years in the making.

Dear Poet,
In this verse you have given a glimpse
Of a story much bigger
A tale much longer
A saga much braver
A song much sadder—
Perhaps, this is all you see
But there is so much more,
I'm sure of it.
Besides—
From pain comes passion
(I know it myself)
And from passion
Comes the best poetry.

Tar-tongued and star-stitched. There's just something about those phrases that just catch me more than anything. The whole poem is very beautiful, though :)
